JAPANESE IRIS - Graceful large flowers on tall sturdy stems.
Their foliage is very
attractive in the garden landscape. Especially beautiful when
associated with
water. Grows well in a heavy, acid garden soil or along the bank
of a pond. Lime
is fatal to them. The last to bloom in the garden. Here these
elegant garden
delights start blooming the end of May and go to mid-July. As we
have been unble to keep up with demand, we are holding back many of
our cultivars for increase, especially Dr. Ackerman's introductions.
They will return to the listing as soon as possible.
Single flowers, three falls = 3F.
Double flowers, six falls = 6F.
Multipetal flowers, more than six falls = MF.
Payne Award (PA) changed to Payne Medal (PM) - Highest award for this class.

LITTLE SNOWMAN (Vogt 90) 6F. White of excellent substance. The long yellow signal runs out into the flower a short ways as light yellow-green veining. Despite the name there is nothing "little" about the plant in height or size of flower. The flower is actually quite large. $12.00
NIGHT STAR (Ackerman 2002)
3F. NIGHT STAR is purple and dark as the night.
It reaches for the stars with its 58 inch height. Two branches plus terminal buds
keeps this beauty blooming in the garden over a long period of time. This late season bloomer
also has a tendency to repeat. $16.00
PIXIE WON (Copeland 97) Violet standards with white midrib; falls violet
with a dark purple halo around yellow signal; cream white styles.
